One of the most important things to get children and young people to enjoy and develop within their sport is to have good leaders and coaches.
Within the next five years, there will be a huge need for more leaders in sport in Africa. There is a great deal of commitment, interest and desire, but the competence to teach according to modern child and youth psychology is limited.
We will primarily focus on educating people who can train new leaders based on the latest knowledge in child and youth psychology and with quality-assured course literature. We will not focus so much on technology development etc. specific to the individual sport.
A training program will be developed in collaboration with the various local African sports federations and corresponding associations in a European country. We will continuously provide financial support for training of trainers and for course literature.
Ansvarig – Yeo Pagahouagnan
My name is YEO PAGAHOUAGNAN, 33 years from Yopougon, Abidjan in Ivory Coast.
I have always loved sports and in my childhood I practiced several disciplines such as basketball acrobatics, karate and football. I have not had a chance to make a career in any sport for several different reasons. Instead, my passion led me to become a leader and in 2008 I became Secretary General of a football academy. Yopougon
From 2008 to 2019 I held several administrative and technical positions, 7 years in Ivory Coast and 4 years in Ghana where I learned to speak fluent English.
I am very much looking forward to working with ESPRIT DE SPORT which will contribute to the development of the sport. I will work with an overall responsibility for the activities in Côte d’Ivoire as Secretary General and that I will stick to the programs for training of leaders as well as health and diet.
I appreciate the confidence I have gained and I will give the best of myself so that together with our European colleagues, we can improve hundreds of thousands of children’s lives in Africa.
